Alex is an award winning chef and food entrepreneur with a passion for sailing. Alex is also a commercially certified yacht captain. He is working on a long held dream to bring these 2 loves together in one project.

Free Range

Alex garnered his cheffing skills initially in England, where he had his first restaurant, and then working in the USA, France and Spain. In Spain he had a restaurant and catering company for many years.

Since being back in the UK, he has founded and funded an award winning food production company and catering business, Free Range Pies. Originally with a production facility in Wiltshire, now the focus is on pies for events and catering. 

In 2018 Alex opened the Free Range Café. Based in the Town Hall of Trowbridge Wiltshire. Championing local, home made and free range products. 

Alex has now sold his interest in Free Range Cafe and Naan Guru to focus on Foodie Sail

​Alex has worked within hospitality for much of his career, with a short foray into marketing and communications in the middle east with Cr4L Marketing; gaining an MBA in 2013 whilst there.

Naan Guru - Indian Street-food

In 2021 Alex developed and launched Naan Guru. An Indian street-food concept fast service restaurant and takeaway. 
Alex used a graffiti artist from Brighton, whom he had worked with previously, to create the striking décor at Naan Guru.

Award Winning Pies

In 2014 Alex launched a pie company. Opening a small manufacturing plant in Wiltshire. The company garnered many national and regional awards. 
With the backing of business angel Alfie Best they expanded the range to include gluten free and vegan pies. 
Later Alex lead a round of funding on Seedrs to fund growth. With the successful introduction of converted horsebox catering trailers the retail side of the business grew quickly. This led to franchises with 3 franchises sold and 4 trailers operating across England. 


Communication

Alex is a keen student of communication. Having studied the subject for many years he has published a book on public speaking and was engaged as a speaker and communications coach in the middle east.
